Although one real problem I think the film had was the pacing especially in the first half. The only problems I had with this film are for things that didn't really matter like the minimal world building and a few unnecessary characters. Almost everything about this film is perfect, from the well defined characters and the compelling plot to the beautiful animation and soundtrack. But one day, the Mesarte army invades Iolph, seeking the peoples' blood for their immortality. One resident, Maquia, feels lonely despite the peaceful and idyllic land she lives in. In the land of Iolph, all the people stop aging in their mid-teens and can live for hundreds of years.
